| 2005 MOSCATO D’LATAH
It’s d’marvelous -- It’s d’wonderful 
| While touring the Piedmonte region of Northwestern Italy, we enjoyed a deliciously sweet, intensely aromatic, wonderfully refreshing and slightly effervescent wine: MOSCATO. Here at Latah Creek we have been bottling Muscat Canelli for nearly our entire 18 years. It continues to be one of winemaker's favorite varieties and in the lighter style he has chosen, we believe it is one of the most food versatile wines we have. But this Moscato is something different. It is produced by stopping the fermentation very early in the processing. The alcohol has only reached 5% to 6% and the residual sweetness is near 10%. Because of the low alcohol the wine is very refreshing — almost like drinking the extremely flavorful juice. Typically the wine is slightly effervescent but not nearly to the level of Spumante. To our knowledge, there are very few Moscato-type wines produced in the U.S. This marvelous wine sells for $13.99 per bottle and is available only at the winery. | Latah Creek Quarterly
